    City Meet Information!

Everything you need to know about City Meet!

    • You can RSVP here. RSVP closes the night of our meet, July 2.
    • As City Meet is unusually early this year, only 1 dual meet participation is needed to qualify. The Mock Meet does not count.
    • Coaches will select events to maximize points. There is no benefit to spreading out swimmers at this meet, so swimmers will be placed in their strongest events (based on past City Meet results).
    • Thursday, July 11 is the 10 & Under Prelims
      • Warm Ups are sometime between 1:00-2:30pm
      • Events are 3:00-7:30pm
    • Friday, July 12 is the 11 & Over Prelims
      • Warm Ups are sometime between 7:45-8:30am
      • Events are 9:00am-3:30pm
    • Saturday, Jul 13 is the Finals for all ages
      • Warm Ups are sometime between 7:45-8:30am
      • Events are 9:00am-4:00pm
    • Exact Warm Up times will be announced later. Warm Ups are only 15-20 minutes long. Please arrive on time!
    • No Practice, no Pre-Team July 11-12
    • Prelims take place on Thursday and Friday. The top 8 times in each event will qualify for A Finals, the next top 8 (places 9-16) will qualify for Consolation Finals. The next top 2 (places 17, 18) will be alternates for Finals. If you finish in the top 18 of any event, individual or a relay, you are expected to attend Finals on Saturday.
      • Swimmers may still swim in City Meet even if they are unavailable on Saturday. Please let Coach Scott know in advance if you are not attending Saturday Finals, so he can remove your swimmer from Finals in the event that he/she qualifies.
    • The meet is located at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center on the University of Tennessee campus. (2200 Andy Holt Ave, Knoxville TN)
    • There is paid parking for $10 per day. Must be purchased in advance. Details will be emailed soon.
    • Free parking will be available at the Metron Center lot, off Kingston Pike (Map). It is about a 3/4 mile walk to the pool. There will not be a shuttle service.
    • Absolutely no drop offs allowed in front of the building. There is too much traffic and you will be ticketed.
    • All parents/guardians of swimmers at City Meet must be willing to work at the meet. Refusal to work will cause GKAISA to fine the team and deduct points, and your family will not be allowed to attend SAC’s end of season banquet.
    • Timers must report to the timer’s meeting.
    • Between events, swimmers and family are expected to stay at the team tent, as seating is limited inside the aquatic center. Team tent location should be the same as years past, but a map has not been published yet.
    • There are no age group coordinators for City Meet. Parents are responsible for getting their swimmers to the Clerk of Course area, directly behind Allan Jones. You can follow @GKAISAOFFICIAL on X/Twitter for up to date on the events and meet information.
    • During Prelims, the girls will swim in the left pool, and the boys will swim in the right pool; from the perspective of the spectators. For Finals, all events will be in the right pool, and the left pool will be open for warm ups. The diving well will be open for warm ups only on Friday.
    • Digital heats sheets will not be available. Heat sheets can be purchased at the box office. Although it can be helpful, swimmers also do not need to know their heat and lane; they will get lined up in their heats and lanes in the Clerk of Course tents. A swimmer only needs to know their event and event number.
    • There will be City Meet shirts available to purchase soon. Shirts must be ordered, they are not for sale at the meet. Details will be emailed soon.
    • If anyone is interested in auditioning to perform the National Anthem, they can find instructions here. Vocalists, instrumentalists, and ensembles are welcome to apply.
    • Things to bring to City Meet
      • Normal swim meet equipment: team suit, team cap, multiple goggles and a few towels.
      • Folding chairs.
      • Books, games, or other entertainment. There is a lot of downtime between events. Athletes should be relaxing while they wait to compete.
      • Healthy snacks and cold drinks. Athletes should drink water or a sports drink (Gatorade) with water.
      • Money for heat sheets, typically $10 per day.
      • Sharpie. All 10 & Under swimmers must have their Last Name, Age, and Team written on the back of their shoulder. This helps the Clerk of Course workers identify swimmers and line them up correctly.
      • NO pop-up tents are allowed.
    • SAC’s theme is Hawaiian!
