Equipment
You can purchase team suits and other SAC Merchandise online here. You can also try on a suit at Swim & Tri in Knoxville, and walk out with a team suit. This season everyone needs to have their own pair of Short Fins. If swimmers already own longer fins, they may continue to use them. Jill will be selling team swim caps for $15.
Other equipment swimmers on the team should have: practice suit, goggles, swim cap (if the hair is long enough to cover the eyes), and a water bottle. We will use kickboards and pull buoys, but the team has enough communal boards and buoys for everyone.
The metal equipment bin will be emptied and all mesh bags will be left at the indoor pool for pick up. Applicable swimmers are required to bring their mesh bag from the indoor pool to the outdoor pool; they may continue to store their bag in the metal equipment bin at the outdoor pool. This is to eliminate any mesh bags that have been abandoned. Any unclaimed equipment from the bin will be donated to the team or discarded.
Pre-Team Coaching
Calling all swimmers ages 15 and older!
We are in need of coaches for our summer pre-team program. Summer pre-team sessions take place Monday through Thursday, conveniently right after the morning swim practice. Coaches will work with learn-to-swim children ages 4-7 that are learning to improve basic swimming skills. You do not have to be an exceptional swimmer to coach, we are looking for responsible teenagers that enjoy the water and are great with kids.
Coaches will be compensated at $14/hr, or we can sign off on volunteer hours if needed. There will be a rotation of coaches so that we can work with everyone's schedule. Being available to coach every single day of the season is not a requirement, but is an option if desired.
If your swimmer is interested, please contact me ASAP at [email protected]
Become a Certified Meet Official!
We have an officials’ training clinic at the Sevierville Civic Center on May 24 at 6pm. Pizza dinner will be provided (RSVP required). Please make your best effort to send a parent or guardian to this training. Swim meets are dependent on the capacity of our volunteers, we truly cannot run a meet without Officials. No swimming experience is required to be an official. Please RSVP so we can have an accurate headcount for training materials and pizza: [email protected]
Meet Theme Vote
Swim meets are part competition and part celebration! We are going all-out this year by dressing up for swim meets! I am inviting all swimmers on the team 13 & Over to cast their vote. I have assembled a list of 23 possible ideas. We have only 5 meets, including City Meet. Submit your vote here!
