GKAISA Officials Needed
Stingray Nation,
Below, you will find a message from GKAISA VP Breckenridge Morgan. Please review, and RSVP with him if you are able to attend. We need new officials. And those who were certified in 2019 need to re-certify.
Parents,
Quick questions to consider:
- Have you ever wanted to know more about each of the various swimming strokes?
- Would you like to help our team fill the skilled positions for officiating at a summer swim meet?
- Did you know it takes at least 6 GKAISA Officials to run a summer swim meet, and we need parents in each of these positions to host a meet successfully?
- Were you certified in 2019? You need to attend this clinic to re-certify for the 2021 season
Referee, Starter and 4 Stroke and Turn Officials (We need more certified though)
If you answered yes to any of these, then we would like you to join us:
When: Saturday, May 22nd 8:00 AM -10:00 AM
Where: Sevierville Community Center meeting room.
Class Leaders: Tom Schuman and Breckenridge Morgan
In this clinic you will learn the technical aspects of the strokes and what officials are looking for when our swimmers are in the water (and before). If you want to become a skilled worker for our stroke and turn positions, you will complete an online test (open book and from the material we cover) and become certified as a GKAISA Stroke and Turn official. 1 clinic is required every 2 years.
Please RSVP to Breckenridge Morgan at [email protected]
You can also text him at (865) 384-2885.
